What are Prosumers?

Prosumers are those who not only consume energy from the electrical network, but also produce and deliver energy from renewable sources. They produce for their own consumption and inject the surplus into the grid, for a fee, based on a sales-purchase agreement with their electricity supplier.

How do I become a prosumer?

If you own an electricity production system from renewable sources, with an installed power of no more than 400 kW per point of consumption, you must send the information and or documents listed on the right to the distribution operator in the county where the plant is located:

a) information on the electrical energy measuring equipment installed in the user installations, other than those belonging to the distribution operators, and their characteristics, respectively: meter series, meter type, technical data; send this information together with the user installation file drawn up by its executor.

b) for natural persons, the self-responsibility declaration from which it can be concluded that you access/do not access the program regarding the installation of photovoltaic systems for the production of electricity in order to cover the consumption needs and deliver the surplus to the national network, carried out by the Environment Fund Administration. Send this declaration together with the request to connect the place of consumption and production;

c) for legal entities, the ascertaining certificate, in original or copy, issued by the trade registry office, with complete information that reflects the current situation of the applicant, proving that the legal entity does not carry out the production of electricity as its main activity; legal entities do not send the declaration from point b). Send this certificate together with the request to connect the place of consumption and production.

How do I sell energy?

You can sell the energy produced and delivered, based on the connection certificate obtained from the distribution operator following the process described above. For this, there must be a contract for the sale and purchase of electricity produced and delivered between you (prosumer/seller) and the distribution operator (supplier/buyer).

You can only sell electricity to the supplier with whom you already have a contract for the energy you consume.

How is settlement done?

Up to 200 kW

At the request of the prosumers, the electricity suppliers with whom they have concluded electricity supply contracts are obliged to make a quantitative compensation in the prosumers' invoice between the electricity produced and delivered in the network and that consumed and to report in the prosumers' invoices the difference in electricity between the amount delivered and the amount consumed, in the event that the amount of energy produced and delivered to the network is greater than the amount of electricity consumed, prosumers being able to use the amount of electricity carried forward for a maximum period of 24 months from the date of invoicing.

Compensation is granted until 12/31/2030

Between 200 and 400 kW

At the request of the prosumers, the electricity suppliers with whom they have signed electricity supply contracts are obliged to purchase the electricity produced and delivered at a price equal to the weighted average price recorded in the Market for the Next Day in the month in which the respective energy was produced and to realize in the invoice of the prosumers the financial regularization between the electricity delivered and the electricity consumed from the network.

What is the legislative framework?

Cleanergy Solutions

The alternative energy market is at the beginning and you, as a pioneer of the adoption of the new trend, can feel alone among so many legislative provisions (which change often), you can have a partial visibility regarding the multitude of funding sources (government programs, European funds, leasing systems) or simply want to be sure that your decision now is scalable and sustainable for the next 30 years. In order to ensure transparency and full understanding of this market, products, technical solutions, implementation costs and funding sources, we have designed modular and scalable implementation packages precisely to be able to cover the growing needs but also a market where technology advances year by year.
